Capitan Juancho Osorio
The actual lineage as to who preceded Capitan Juancho Osorio and who followed him as the gobernadorcillo of Dalaguete are both subjects to open debates. What was certain was that on January 18, 1834, at a gathering at the Casa Real de Cebu headed by the Captain of the Spanish armada Don Manuel Romero and were attended by all the parish priests and local officials concerned, Capitan Osorio together with then Dalaguete parish priest Fray Manuel Gallo represented the pueblo when the boundary lines between Dalaguete and the surrounding pueblos of Argao, Moalboal, Badian, Alegria and Boljoon were delineated. It is worthy to note that as of 2010, nine of the past municipal chiefs of Dalaguete can be traced back to the family line of Capitan Juan, namely – Placido Osorio (grandson); Amando Osorio, Urbano Osorio, Cristino Salvador and Filemon Salvador, great grandchildren; and Francisco Salvador, Conrada Almagro, Jose Almagro, and Ma. Paz Wong, (great, great grandchildren).
