Talents, Skills Developed, Highly Displayed in 3rd Division Technolympics 2014 

This year’s 3rd Division Technolympics themed “Improving Lives thru Individual Skills Development” held at the Dalaguete National High School last October 2-3, 2014, have gotten great attention as students showcased exemplary talents and skills in the fields of Industrial Arts (Mini Cabinet Organizer, Creative T-shirt and Designing, Steel Baluster Making), Home Economics (Nail Art with Hand Massage, Children’s Wear Construction, Hair Style with Facial Make-up), Agri-Fishery (Experimental Fish Dish, Experimental Cookery, Landscaping), Information and Computer Technology (Tarpaulin Designing, Web Page Designing, PC Assembly with Configuration and Networking). This two-day event aimed not just for these students to soar high in the upcoming Regional Level of this competition but also to assess students’ learning in the course of Technology and Livelihood Education and most importantly, to better equip them and hone these students’ talents and skills.

IMG 7204The opening ceremony commenced with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev Fr. Aloysius Alohipan, St. William of Aquitaine Parish Priest. It was attended by the Dalaguete National High School faculty headed by Mr. Luis Carin, the school principal, who welcomed guests and expressed how proud and honoured he is for the school to host such a momentous event; Mr. Franklin Luage, the President for the Division TLE Association, who presented the participants; Mrs. Araceli Cabahug, Division Coordinator for TLE; Dr. Arden Monisit, Schools Division Superintendent, who inducted officers of the TLE Coordinators Association of Cebu Province; and the Local Government Unit of Dalaguete headed by Hon. Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante, Brgy. Capt. Ernesto Tangpos, Jr., the barangay captain of Poblacion, Dalaguete and his councilors. Awards were given to Cansuhi National High School from the municipality of Argao for being the earliest bird and the Municipality of Consolacion for the delegation with the most number of participants.

The competition started in the evening of the first day, October 2, with the Ms. Technolympics 2014 – a battle of talent, beauty, wit and composure and the Techno Dance – a battle of skills, creativity, energy, and coordination. Here’s a list of the winners for the evening.

On the second day, October 3, the rest of the competitions were held simultaneously in the respective rooms assigned as announced on the opening ceremony. The awarding ceremony was held in the afternoon. Here’s the list of the winners.

With the remarkable results of these competions, indeed, with skills developed and honed, lives improved follows as these students transformed into compleat individuals that are more than ready to face the real world.
