The Suroy Suroy Sugbo (SSS) is one of the tourism programs of Honorable Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia of the Province of Cebu. SSS allows visitors and tourists to experience an unforgettable cultural adventure as they embark on an exciting and scenic journey around the different tourist destinations of Cebu Province.
The SSS Southern Heritage Trail will take visitors along the southern part of Cebu Province. Starting on Thursday, November 30, 2023, registered participants can enjoy meals, lodging, a Suroy Suroy kit, and the escort of accredited Department of Tourism (DOT) tour guides.
Kicking off from Minglanilla town, tourists will make stops at San Fernando, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, and Boljoon on the first day.
The second leg of the tour (December 1) will take participants through the towns of Oslob, Santander, Samboan, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Alegria, Badian, and Moalboal.
On the last day (December 2), tourists will be brought to the municipalities of Alcantara, Ronda, Dumanjug, and Barili, as well as the cities of Carcar and Naga. The last stop will take place at Talisay City before the group departs for the Capitol.
SSS aims to boost the local economy of host cities and municipalities by introducing and attracting more domestic and foreign tourists to the entire Cebu Province.
For the Municipality of Dalaguete, tourists and registered participants can expect a truly unique and vibrant experience of culture, history, and gastronomy on November 30.
Widely known as the “Summer Capital of Cebu” and the “Vegetable Basket of Central Visayas”, Dalaguete will offer SSS participants with a lively showcase of Utanon Festival dance, and hearty and delectable local delicacies, such as banana meat, binignit, torta, and more. Coffee, pizza, and other snacks will also be available.
Guests will get the chance to visit the San Guillermo de Aquitania Church, a National Heritage Landmark, as well as experience the official launching of the dancing lights of the Sta. Cruz Fountain by none other than Gov. Gwen Garcia at the Sta. Cruz Plaza. This plaza in Barangay Poblacion is a site to behold, especially at night time, when it is teeming with families and children who come to bond and play, employees who relax after working hours, friends who meet and catch up, and lovers who rendez-vous. At night, it also comes alive bustling with economic activity from food vendors.
