LOOK: Elders from the coastal barangays of the Municipality of Dalaguete gathered at the Dalaguete Sports and Cultural Center on November 5, 2024, to celebrate the Part II of Elderly Filipino Month, radiating smiles and joy.
In his inspirational message, Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante expressed his strong support for the elderly in Dalaguete, emphasizing the commitment of the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD) to assist and honor its senior citizens.
“Enjoy your day, because today is your day,” said SB Councilor Ernesto “Todidot” Tangpos, Chairman on Social Welfare, in his welcome address.
Mayor Cesante, along with other SB members: Vice Mayor William Lagahid, and SB Councilor Kevin Belandres, Hon. Josephine Nepomuceno, Hon. Felix Villahermosa, and MGD staff, pledged their continued support to the citizens of Dalaguete.
Also in attendance were Ferdinand Llanos, Rommel Alcantara, and Mario Montenegro.
The event celebrated the elders’ contributions to society, featuring performances of popular Cebuano songs and folk dances, spreading joy and appreciation throughout the community.
In addition, Mayor Cesante iniatited the implementation of Municipal Ordinance No. 2023-303, which provides special cash gifts to Dalaguete Seniors Citizens starting from their 95th birthday, as part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to its elderly citizens.
Despite budget constraints and challenges, the Municipal Government of Dalaguete is dedicated to supporting its community, ensuring no Dalaguetenon is left behind.
