LGU Dalaguete awardee of the Seal of Good Local Governance by DILGWritten by Walter Sasam

July 14, 2015. The Local Government of Dalaguete is one of the awardee of the SEAL of GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE (SGLG) amongst 8 other local government units in the Province of Cebu. The award was given by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mar Roxas together with Cebu Provicial Gov. Junjun Davide, Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale and Cebu Sixth District Congressman Luis Quisumbing at the Norkis Park, Mandaue City. The Municipality of Dalaguete received the seal which will be displayed at the Municipal Town Hall. With that, a grant worth of three million pesos (PHP 3, 000, 000.00) was given.
According to Mayor Ronnie Cesante, the PHP 3M will be allocated to the complete water systems of four barangays in the municipality.
The SGLG is given to the LGUs which complies to the “three plus one” assessment of the DILG, which comprises good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness, and social protection and either one of remaining criteria which includes peace and order, environmental management, and business-friendliness and competitiveness.
Also, among the 8 LGUs, namely, Argao, Bantayan, Dalaguete, Dumanjug, Malabuyoc, Medellin, Oslob, and San Remegio, the Cebu Province also received the SGLG and 7M pesos which, according to Gov. Davide, will be allocated for additional medical equipment of the District Hospitals.
