Dalaguete’s Utanon Festival to Rejoin This Year’s Pasigarbo sa SugboWritten by Cyril Magallanes

Utanon Festival Delegation, represented mostly of Dalaguete National High School students, is off for challenge in bringing home the crown for this year’s 4th edition of the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo 2011 (Festival of Festivals) to be held at Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) tomorrow, August 13. This being in line with the Province of Cebu’s month-long celebration for its 442nd Founding Anniversary.
This year, 40 towns and cities of Cebu will be showcasing their festivals in a street dancing and ritual showdown competitions. Street dancing will start at 1 p.m. and ritual showdown kicks off at 6 p.m., respectively.
The delegation was sent off last Thursday morning and are staying at Opao Elementary School of Mandaue City. They are expecting the support of fellow Dalaguetnons during the event. Valuable presence of each and every Dalaguetnons to cheer them in the event is enough encouragement to boost the delegates’ confidence to “bring home the bacon”.
