Dalaguete bested the rest of the towns and cities of the Province of Cebu in performing the SAKSAK Program.
The SAKSAK program was launched province-wide by no less than Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia as the local government's way to help ease the impact on increase of prices from basic commodities which includes rice, being the primary concern of the program.
It's the way of finding ways to help the poorest of the poor to cope with the recent increase. The program aims to increase volume and feeding capacity of cooked rice by adding Camote with it thereby promoting the value of Camote. The projected degree of adaptation with the common food staple is implemented province-wide.
Dalaguete brought home a total amount of P600,000, being in 1st place (P500,000) and for being one of the top 10 performing LGUs (P100,000). Municipality of Catmon placed 2nd and Moalboal in the 3rd place both having received P400,000 and P300,000, respectively.
