Two finalists both shined in each of the first two qualifying nights to advance to the grand finale of the Search for the Tri-Centennial Singing Star Season 2 that kicked off last November 12, 2011 at the St. William Church Plaza, Poblacion, Dalaguete, Cebu.
The grand finals will be held on December 31, 2011, making it as one of the highlights for the closing of the town’s Tri-Centennial Celebration.
Seven qualifiers will be battling each other in the grand finals. Five more qualifying nights are about to be held before the final night. These are held every Saturday at 8 pm, right after the Holy Mass at 7 pm.
Last Saturday night (Nov. 19, 2011), 14-year-old Klowie Kane Aring of Barangay Poblacion got the nod of the three judges with his winning piece “Luha” of Aegis Band. She bested five other contenders namely: Welth Resrick Villarba of Obong, Hapee Legaspi of Tapon, Angelie Mae Carillo of Casay, Sedric Vergara of Sacsac, and Devanne Bajarias of Lapaz.
Leigh Rose Sandoval, 15 years old, of Barangay Tapon got the same fate as Klowie in being the victor of the first qualifying night (Nov. 12, 2011) against four other contestants, Mary Jean Batoctoy, Rochelle Mariano, Christian Celino, and Jorge Magno.
The first qualifying night was sponsored by Msgr. Phil Tumulak while the second night was by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Navarrete and family.
