As the town celebrated its 300th year as a parish, 2011 is considered to be a Holy Year for every Dalaguetnon; and in celebration for the closing of Dalaguete’s Holy Year, series of activities had been lined-up commencing on December 25 and culminating with a countdown and fireworks display on New Year’s Eve.
The San Guillermo Parish Heritage Committee had mapped out activities to be held at the food lane area, in front of St. William Church. The space along the food lane will be transformed as a “Fantasy Toyland” where inflatables and kiddie rides are placed for an affordable minimum fee of P20. The toyland will be open from 1 pm to 6 pm.
From 8 pm onwards, other events in the same venue are also scheduled, starting with a “Caroling Contest” on the 25th, ending with a multi-event evening on December 31, having the grand finals of the “Tri-Centennial Singing Star Season 2”, “Live Showband and Disco”, and the “Countdown/Fireworks Display”.
Proceeds of the activities will come a long way in the matter of contribution to the establishment of San Guillermo Church Museum. For inquiries, one may visit Kiosko or San Guillermo Office or contact the latter at (032) 484-8974.
