36 elementary teachers of Alcantara Central School tripped to Dalaguete last December 20, 2011 for their Educational Tour to visit the different tourist destinations of the town.
The visitors coming from the Municipality of Alcantara, Cebu and including some of the student-teachers of Alcantara Central School arrived at around 9:30 am at the Dalaguete Municipal Hall. They were then given short talks on the town’s Solid Waste Management by Erwin Belandres and on Agriculture by Engr. Expedizitas Lenares. They were also presented with a video of the Package Tour of Dalaguete’s Tourism Office by Victor Caruz, the tourism officer of Dalaguete.
After the short but informative program inside the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, the guests proceeded to the Museo sa Dalaguete and were exhibited with the town’s culture.
The visitors, headed by Dalaguete’s tourism officer, were then toured to Mantalongon to see the different spots the place can offer. They had their first stop at the barangay’s Vegetable Trading Center. After having their lunch at the Mantalongon Elementary School, they ascended to Sta. Cruz de Villa Caridad and had some picture taking at the place with the panoramic view of the Mantalongon mountain ranges as the background.
In their way down back to the town proper, they had a visit to the Kristo Rey and Life-Sized Via Crucis, and then a brief view at the outside scene of Mag-alambak Nature Park.
Upon reaching Barangay Obo, they had their picture taking at the Tramline Facility area. They also had a short stop at the historic Paling-Paling road.
As they reach the town proper, they had their heritage walk at the St. William Church compound where they had their view on the different cultural structures.
Before going to the municipal hall for courtesy visit to the Mayor’s Office, the visitors were able to taste and bring home variety of Dalaguete delicacies sold at the terminal area of Poblacion. They then depart the town at around 4:20 pm.
