MGD to establish donation drop-off center for Sendong victimsWritten by Cyril Magallanes
- Created: 23 December 2011
The Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD), in the Spirit of Christmas and Filipino tradition of solidarity, joins everyone in the whole country in giving assistance to the victims of tropical storm Sendong that brought landslides and flashfloods that took more than a thousand lives in Cagayan de Oro City, Iligan City, Negros Oriental.
A drop-off center will be set up at the Municipal Hall for the pooling of donations that may include cash, used clothings, canned goods, health kits, medicines, and any other basic needs. These will then be transported to Cebu City to be turned over to a drop-off point that facilitates, together with other donations, in transporting to affected areas of typhoon Sendong.
This isn’t the first time for MGD to set up a donation drop-off center as it had made the same when typhoon Ondoy hit Metro Manila last 2009.
Aside from donations, MGD will also send one of its utility trucks to help in the clearing works at Cagayan de Oro City in support to its city government.
You may visit the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) at 2nd floor Municipal Bldg. for your donations or contact the office for inquiries at (032) 484-8718/484-8500 local 205.
