Blakdyak, who is known to be the “Bob Marley of the Philippines”, for his superb reggae style of music will be back in town for a concert in the opening salvo of Dalaguete’s 301st Fiesta Celebration on January 31, 2012 sponsored mainly by the Dalaguete Agri Ventures, Incorporated, in cooperation with the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD), Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante, and Vice Mayor Jeffrey B. Belciña.
Last October 2008, Blakdyak had already performed a concert here in Dalaguete during the Sto. Rosario Fiesta Celebration of Barangay Poblacion of that year.
This will be the first after several years that MGD’s nite will not be on the 31st of January. It will now be on the 8th of February wherein a more popular artist is expected to perform a concert.
Way back in the year when MGD had sponsored an Andrew E concert in the opening of Novenary Nites, it had gone to be a tradition of having famous artists or celebrities coming from Manila to perform in the town, all sponsored by MGD.
Dalaguete Sports and Cultural Complex is expected to be jam-packed with Dalaguetnons who had fascination on concert performances of artists who know how to attract audience’s participation and laughter.
