Last September 2010, together with the mayors of three other towns and a city of the Province of Cebu, Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) intent of which is the installation of an ATM in the town.
It was stated in the MOA that the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD) will find an available space while DBP can use the space for free for three years holding back the necessary rental for time being.
In return, DBP shall support the development projects of Dalaguete and other participating local government units through loans consistent with bank’s policies.
With the installation of ATM in the town, it will help stimulate economic activities and with savings from those who have to spend on fare just to withdraw their salaries, pensions, cash transfers, etc.. ATM users at present would now be content to know that we have already one in our own locality.
This ATM installation may lead to a possible setting up of a DBP branch in the near future that could give a lot of benefits to the constituents and to Dalaguete as a whole, a welcome idea of the present administration.
