Traditional Chinese way of simple yet meaningful groundbreaking ceremony last Thursday, March 15, 2012, marks the start of a construction of a two-classroom school building in Panaguikan and Sacsac elementary schools.
Municipal Administrator Rydal B. Cisneros and Education Consultant Benjamin Liston represented the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD) and some barangay officials and teachers of respective schools were also present during the ceremonies.
The undying support of Samson Ong with his affiliate, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), and with his son Architect Jimson Ong, made these humanitarian ventures possible. The construction of a new school building in Sacsac Elementary School will be majorly funded by the MCCI while that of Panaguikan Elementary School will be courtesy of Arch. Ong’s high school batch of Cebu Eastern College – Cebu City. A counterpart funding will be also allocated from MGD and barangay governments of Tapon and Sacsac, respectively.
This isn’t the first time Samson Ong made this kind of charitable deeds as he had spearheaded previous constructions of school buildings in Panaguikan, Sacsac, Balud, and Obo elementary schools.
Samson Ong’s wife and Arch. Jimson Ong’s mother, Rosalia Calderon Ong, hailed from Sitio Dibdib, Sacsac, a major reason why Ong’s family had been reaching out supports in education to Dalaguete.
