In order to improve basic public services for the constituents of the 14 upland barangays of the town, the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD) extended efforts to address this said objective by way of turning over three utility vehicles yesterday, March 18, 2012, at the San Isidro Labrador Parish Church of Brgy. Mantalongon.
Rev. Fr. Mario Atienza, parish priest, headed the blessing of the vehicles that included an ambulance procured by MGD, a pick-up type multicab granted by the Provincial Government of Cebu, and a garbage truck that was reconditioned by MGD to further utilized the same. The blessing was conducted after a holy mass that was attended by MGD officials and employees led by no less than Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante with his family, together with the Vice Mayor and some SB members.
There are already two ambulances that are based in Mantalongon. Other than that, there were also major projects including a widening and concreting of the Poblacion-Mantalongon Road and a covered multi-purpose building that were both set to be finished in time for the annual fiesta celebration of the barangay this coming month of May, giving the Vegetable Basket of Cebu added amenities in order to cater to tourists and locals as well.
