As Gilbert Bargayo stages his 17th real-life crucifixion in Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City, a local youth group of Dalaguete will stage the town’s 11th passion play dubbed as the “Pasyon sa Dalaguete 2012” this Good Friday, April 6, 2012, at 6:30 in the morning, in sponsorship with Dalaguete Agri-Ventures Inc. (DAVI).
A reenactment of the gospel stories about Jesus’ trial, torture by Roman soldiers, and crucifixion can be witnessed at St. William Parish Church vicinity and up to the streets going to Cambangyao in route to Hawklandia area where the carrying of the cross and crucifixion are to be played.
In the history of passion plays held in Dalaguete, that of 2008 was the most participated. In that year, Bargayo staged his 15th public crucifixion in Cristo Rey Mountain Park in Mantalongon, Dalaguete that was witnessed by close to 6,000 people.
