heavy04March 18, 2013 – Mayor Ronald Allan G. Cesante led the municipal employees and guests in the blessing of the newly acquired heavy equipment units, which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Lemuel Ejercito right after the weekly flag ceremony and prayer.

The set of heavy equipment units which was purchased from the PhP 28.685M loan package from the Land Bank of the Philippines to the municipality consisted of two (2) units dump trucks and one (1) unit self-loading truck under Land Bank Term Loan 3, and one (1) unit brand new motor grader under Land Bank Term Loan 4. Another portion of the loan package was for the construction of the Caleriohan Public Market.

Mayor Cesante conceived this project right at the start of his new mandate in 2010 because of the need to upgrade the pool and replace some heavy equipment of the municipality for projects to be implemented by Administration. The Sangguniang Bayan as per Resolution No. 65-2012 approved the ordinance authorizing the local chief executive on behalf of the municipality to borrow the amount. This ordinance was subsequently reviewed and approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan as per Resolution No. 775-2012.

The purchases from this authorized borrowing anticipate all vertical and horizontal constructions and road maintenance work which will increase significantly public service efficiency. The two dump trucks consist of one (1) unit reconditioned Nissan 6-wheeler, 10 tonner military truck model; and one (1) unit reconditioned 6-wheeler Isuzu dump truck. The self-loading truck is a reconditioned 10-wheeler Isuzu model with boom crane and winch. The brand new heavy equipment unit which is due for delivery soon is a Caterpillar Model 120K motor grader. All purchases underwent stringent scrutiny and evaluation from the Bids and Awards Committee chaired by Engr. Marie Fe V. Zambrano.

Also present during the blessing was Hon. Kevin V. Belandres, Chairman for SB Committee on Infrastructure and the TWG Head, and the different Department Heads led by Engr. Zambrano and Engr. Donald Abraham P. Lara of the Engineering Office. Although it took long time to have this project realized, this is one concrete manifestation of Mayor Cesante’s thrust of proactive, transparent and accountable governance for the welfare of the people who the Municipal Government of Dalaguete (MGD) is duty-bound to serve.
