DalGTE joins Run to Plant 2013Written by Walter B. Sasam

The Dalaguete National High School, together with the Municipal Government of Dalaguete had jointly embarked on a Run to Plant activity this Friday, July 26, 2013 along the Dalaguete Riverbanks covering the stretch of Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Poblacion. The participants planted a total of 740 seedlings that is 680 of Cacao and 60 of Coffee which covers almost 1.48 hectares of the planting spot according to Mr. Alejandro A. Rodrigo, FLUP/DBCMP Coordinator of the MGD.
All fourth year students from Dalaguete National High School together with their respective class advisers, MANRO, MHO (RN/RM HEALS), PPDU, ITSM, OJT Staffs of the Municipality of Dalaguete and all Dalageute Star Center Faculty and Students gathered at the covered court of DNHS for planting instructions and briefing of event route. The final briefing was given by Ms. Misael L. Ramos, MANRO Staff. The run/hiking kicked off at around 6:30 AM. The destination for planting was 2 kilometers more or less from the starting point which is 35 minutes of trek.
This Run 2 Plant is a commitment showing the unceasing determinations for a greener Philippines and in participation of the Billion Trees Program which aims to plant 1 billion trees in a given time in order to combat global warming and climate change.
