Like anywhere else, Dalaguete has its own share of intelligent but destitute students who aspire to continue their studies despite their financial constraints. To this end, the Sangguniang Bayan ratified Municipal Ordinance 96-20, which created the Dalaguete Municipal Scholarship Program. As of March, 2010, the program has produced 16 full-pledged college graduates, (three of whom graduated as magna cum laude and six of whom graduated as cum laude), from seven colleges and universities.
